Mox is a community hub and coworking space in San Francisco's Mission District, founded in February 2025 to advance the cause of AI safety. Mox has 150+ active members, and has built a unique environment where researchers, advocates, builders, and innovators working on high-impact projects converge. Mox also hosts a thriving community center which caters primarily to niches in the SF tech scene such as the rationalist and effective altruist communities.
We are seeking a fulltime events manager to own Mox's public and partner-led programming, the events that bring new people through the door and that generate revenue.
This is a tightly-scoped, fast-paced, and relatively independent project management and sales role. You’ll be responsible for helping bring in new event leads, maintaining consistent communication with external partners to build a dense events schedule, and for leading a team to execute on making such events happen. You will need to handle pipelines for multiple events at once, and will be able to leverage a team of operations staff and volunteers to make the events succeed.
In addition to the core responsibilities, the ideal candidate has a familiarity with SF tech culture, feels a sense of belonging in the Mox community, and the necessary context to grow into shaping Mox's overall strategy over time.
This role will afford many networking opportunities and the ability to demonstrate competence to external partners. The position holds key responsibilities in Mox’s overall strategy, and thus this position has the potential to grow into a leadership role at Mox.
